AiM is a Foundation now

From a cultural idea to impactful reality

I am happy to share that our initiative AiM, our bridge between Indonesia and Holland, became a foundation registered at the Chamber of Commerce under number 94555397.

A great step forward to connect our two countries in the future through culture. Many more steps to come.

The first one is organising an exhibition at the brand new Indonesia House Amsterdam. Do have a look: https://www.roemahindonesia.com/Many of you already indicated to be a creative part of this specific event which will run from 26th (opening) September till the end of October. Two art students from Bandung ISBI give a music and dance performance, based on my poem Future/Masa Depan in Bahasa Indonesia. Some work of Indonesian students/artists will be presented too.
Step two will take place in February 2025. The three AiM foundation members are heading to Jakarta, the Erasmushuis, which is a part of the Dutch embassy/ministry of Foreign affairs. There we will organise a two day workshop like we did in Bandung earlier this year. With 9 Indonesian selected art students (of all areas of Indonesia from Papua to Aceh) we will prepare and reflect on an art installation for the new Indonesian capital Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN). As you might know Jakarta will change it’s governmental position. In this process the input of Dutch artists is important.
The third step is presenting the art installation in IKN on the 17th of august 2025. That date it’s 80 years ago that Soekarno declared Independence.
