Masa Depan

Art in Motion Foundation’s (AiM) mission is to promote and nurture this symbiotic relationship, especially through the eyes and minds of the youth. After a series of workshops and exhibitions in 2024 – 2025, it is now time for the crowning glory: the construction of ‘Masa Depan’ (future).

‘Masa Depan’ represents not only a shared heritage between Indonesia and the Netherlands but, more importantly, an exploration of a connected future. It symbolises a relationship of more than 350 years between the 2 countries covering trade, architecture, culture and family ties. The 2 spirals are a play on the DNA structure signifying life, evolution and growth – the past, present and especially the future. The pedestal base gives a hint of a tulip bulb.
